Committee legacy work: request for update on progress against Committee recommendations in your portfolio

Dear Minister,

The Committee has recently agreed to carry out a review of the work it has undertaken during the fourth Assembly.

As part of this legacy work, we will be looking back over our policy and legislation inquiries with a view to assessing the impact of the conclusions and recommendations contained in our various reports.

To assist with this work, I should be grateful if you would update the Committee on progress made against the recommendations in our reports on Progress with local government collaboration and Community Safety in Wales.

In addition, we would like you to provide an update on progress made in implementing the provisions of the following Acts:

- Violence against Women, Domestic Abuse and Sexual Violence (Wales) Act 2015,

- Local Government (Democracy) (Wales) Act 2013, and

- Local Government Byelaws (Wales) Act 2012.

It would be helpful if you could respond by Friday 24 July.

Following on from this, the Committee would like to invite you to give oral evidence in the autumn term to help inform our legacy work. I have asked the Clerk to liaise with your office to make the necessary arrangements.

Yours sincerely,

Christine Chapman AC / AM
